Review: Delicious Cafe

EDITED on 8th October 2005 for some mistakes. We went there this afternoon for more goodies, will update once photos are uploaded next week.

Hokay as promised, here's a non-halal posting.

It's pretty odd to have a cafe located at the back of a boutique. Not any boutique that is BUT a boutique to cater for larger sized women. However, the back of the boutique opens up to a huge balcony where diners can dine alfresco or maybe lounge on the huge white bed with soft fluffy pillows. This one is over at One Utama.

Over in Bangsar Village, the cafe is located in an obscure location as well. This no. 2 branch is located inside the Village Grocer supermarket and not any boutique. The way back of the cafe opens up to some kind of terrace. Ahem... over here you can get dreamy whilst lounging on large white bed over white tents with white frilly curtains and drapes.

Yes, my friends, this is Delicious By Ms Read. Ms Read is the boutique for larger size women started off by Helen Read where else the cafe, she collaborated with her son. We have been there for a few times but never get to capture any delicious pics until recently. We loved to drop by there to have our afternoon tea. I tell you, their cakes and pastries are super delicious. Darn, now I know why they named themselves Delicious cos almost every darn stuff is delicious! Am not kidding you ok.

Hubby ordered Marsala Lamb Shank (RM21.90) that came with an extremely tender but not overly spicy lamb shank served with aromatic rice, cucumber strips drizzled with tangy yogurt dressing and a couple of crispy papadoms. The lamb was well cooked and the spices managed to masked the musky smell.

I had a Shepherds Pie (RM14.90), a huge pie came with a side fresh salad lightly dressed with olive oil and balsamic vinegar; and a roasted tomato (I think so) based sauce.

Tasted anything but delicious (what else? hahahaha) Look at the lovely minced lamb and the thick mash potatoes... awfully sinful but who cares.

Took boiboi to the cake counter and he picked this Mango Cheesecake (RM8.90 a slice) which is biscuit based with a creamy mangolicious cream cheese top amongst the other cakes and pastries. Due to its creaminess, boiboi managed to finished 2/3 of the piece which I think it's considerabily a lot for his age since he had one bowl of rice porridge just a couple of hours ago. Thank goodness he know when to stop when he's done with it. That's boiboi's hand and his other hand was holding the spoon preparing to dig in even though I told him to let me snap a pic first hehehehe...

What I like most about this cafe is they do not have a fixed variety of cakes at the counter. They some sort like change on a daily basis but the best sellers are usually available most times. I love their Banana Pudding serves with a large scoop of vanilla ice-cream on a puddle of caramel sauce. I've yet to try them all, will post them up on our next trip to Delicious.

Julian did a fantabulous post on his trip to Delicious. Check out the mouthwatering photos!
